Hi. I have a Hotpoint twin tub and one of the clutch shoes has broken. It’s very hard to find shoes these days. I have use super glue and seem to be ok. Question is, will it be still ok to use my washer after the repair with super glue. Thanks

@girlnextdoor Hi. I converted the garage into a laundry room. So glad it has water and electricity in there. All my appliances are connected to the water and waste and use different machines each week. The Candy 137D is the oldest automatic washer I have, it dares from about 1975.

Siemens @logixx , I’m not sure which parts are made in China, looking at my machine, it definitely looks like a modern Haier. It’s a good machine, the point I was trying to say, I thought buying an expensive Siemens it would of been made in Germany.

Laundry room Hi Al Yes the Candy 137D only 400 rpm, but a really good machine. As for the hose in the AEG spin dryer, it’s a spare one, and just left it there. Really need to move it lol, making the place untidy, 😂.

Hi. It’s been a long time since I posted on here. Well, I recently purchased a brand new Candy 137D, it’s from about 1979. The guy who sold me the washer told me he purchased a house with loads on furniture still left in.

@kevin Kevin. Speed Queen machines sold in the UK have this locking device. Their machines are sold for commercial use, so can't understand why they fit this lock. As for some front loader wash times. My LG Turbo wash machine could take over 3 hours to complete a load, you did have Turbo wash...

@Kevin Kevin, The metal bar of the Speed Queen is the locking device for the machine, I know it spoils the appearance of the machine. Paul

Top Loader Hi John Yes that's my top loader washer. Simply love it, do have a couple of front loaders, but prefer the top loader. Paul

Speed Queen Hi Mark The new machine is great. Washing completed in 30 mins, and results great. I am not brave enough to by pass the lock. I did when the machine started to drain press the unlock button and I heard the brake come on so I know it does the spin drain. Cheers Paul
