Roses are RED, violets are blue...

We had one more night time trip to try and get a Maytag J model wringer but someone beat us to it. I won't go into the rest of the trip but it turned out to be quite laughable even though we didn't snag the wringer.

Back to 1974 It was Christina's sharp eyes that caught this and alerted me so I able to get this.

Yes Mike I am the guilty party in this adventure. Hi Bob to you also. I often think back to the wash-in we had years ago when you were all here and what fun we had.I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately we discovered that Poppy(the original) was in the process of grinding up her insides to...

    The Elégante 92...

This has been a very interesting thread indeed. The Blackstone in the first video is mine and is still alive and well. I recently had a repairman here for warranty work on my Speed Queen 542 and when he saw all the washers he said"Oh you have a Blackstone." He told me he had been doing this for...

Nate, Since when do we need fabric softener dispensers.......just take the cap off the bottle of softener and set the bottle on the machine(with lid open).....during the first spin it will dispense itself! R

Video of a 1955 Blackstone washer

Kevin, Thank you for posting that great video of my Blackstone. You did a superb job with it. It is a fun washer to see operate. Just got back from Greg's in Omaha where a bunch of us had a wonderful time welcoming in 2012 by doing laundry and a lot of dishes! Roger

Not BOL........but still fun to see in real life one of the machines from the 70's brochure. Here is my WWA8450V programmed washer.

Greg, Thanks again for a great week. It was so good to all be together again and meet some new friends as well. The pictures bring it all back......it was great fun. Grease-like stains - Maytag A608

I have the same washer bought in Jan. of 1977 and it has been equally reliable. In the picture of the agitator post I don't see the spring clip that goes on top of the steel washer to hold both the seal and washer down against the agitator shaft collar. I think without the clip the seal might be...
