Some new appliances are better than old ones

So how does one bypass that belt sensor? The Maytag tech did not have one, still does not have one and according to him, there is no way to bypass it. It's beyond ridiculous.

Some new appliances are better than old ones

My FIL bought that same Maytag "Commercial" set last year. His dryer has been non functional now for almost 2 months because of a "broken belt sensor" that has gone bad. Belt is fine, sensor tanked. Getting it repaired through warranty has been a nightmare. No thanks. I'll keep my 1976 806/808...

    Cascade Professional Fryer Boil Out

Just ordered 6 boxes. Even at the Amazon price, it's still cheaper than Bubble Bandit.

    Phosphate dishwasher detergent problems

I use Cascade Fryer Boil Out, which has phosphates, and I will get the white residue sometimes if my rinse aid is empty. I'm wondering if your rinse aid dispenser is working. I will also add that I live in an area with very hard water as well. I'm trying to get my husband to install a water...

    Bosch vs Vtg KitchenAid Dishwasher

We have a top control Bosch and it is wonderful. It's so quiet that I have to put my hand on it sometimes to make sure it's running. Never any issues with everything getting sparkling clean, even when BobLoaded. I can wholly recommend Bosch dishwashers.

    Nationwide gas stove ban?

I think if child welfare is truly the focus, then the topic should be on the much bigger issue of children growing up in homes with parents who smoke than gas stoves. I grew up with a chain smoking mother; she would light her next cigarette with the one she was finishing. Our entire house was...

    Maytag A806 Timer

I am looking for a Maytag 2-4499-1 or 2-4499-3 timer to have as a backup for my A806. I realize it's like looking for a needle in a haystack now, but just thought I would see if anyone had a good working one they would like to sell. Thanks!!

Is this a 1989 Maytag Washer and Dryer? Buy?

I converted my 806 to a short stroker when my transmission locked up because it was all I could find. I have no issues with its performance, everything comes out sparkling clean and our clothes stay in great shape.

1990s Unbalanced Kenmore Series 80 help...

I agree with Glenn. That looks like the floor isn't solid enough for the spin action. I had the same problem with my Maytag until I moved into the house I'm in now. It shook like crazy during spin in my old house; so bad it would walk around. The floor just couldn't take it. In this house it's...

ISO advice: which vintage washer and dryer to buy for daily usage?

Thank you, Steve! Sean, I converted my console lights over to LED. Looks the same, but they are instant on and no flickering.
