I ended up replacing the shocks with the original dampers from Miele. I think this machine has to use the all-steel shocks because these can move freely at low speeds so the drum can be weighed. The plastic dampers arrived but they are almost impossible to move, so I don't think the machine...

Hi, great forum, just joined today. I'm replacing the dampers / shock absorbers on my Miele W2888 and I notice the originals are made by Stabilus and are like miniature car shocks - all metal. The replacement parts I've ordered are from Suspa Italy and use plastic and metal and look a lot less...
