    Maytag A208 Timer

Finally got over to my Moms to change the inlet valve. Installation was a breeze and I changed the hoses also(I had a spare set). Machine now runs like it did 25 years ago, more importantly, Mom is totally happy. Thanks again all.

    Maytag A208 Timer

It does not fill on cold, so I think the inlet valve is probably the right direction. I'll get it changed after it comes in and keep my fingers crossed.

    Maytag A208 Timer

Thanks guys, I'm going over there today to see if it will fill on cold. A new water inlet valve is only 22 bucks. Where is it located? I'm thinking it's behind the hose input?

Disconnected the wires from my brothers install, reconnected the timer using the numbers on the wires(still perfectly readable) and Bingo, back in business. Thanks to all for your help!!

    Maytag A208 Timer

Thanks for the info on the numbered wires and front panel removal! I'm going over there tonight, I'm hoping the wires are in good enough shape to read the numbers as that should solve my problem. Failing that I'll take the front panel off and have a look for the diagram. I can't thank you guys...

    Maytag A208 Timer

I'll keep you posted(no pun intended). I should be able to get over there Thursday evening, is the washer front just held on by clips and lifts off or are there some hidden screws I need to look for?

    Maytag A208 Timer

Hi All, I have a big problem. My brother changed the timer on my Mothers(stay with me) Maytag A208 washer. I believe he mis connected a wire because it is not working. I have scoured the interenet to find a color coded schematic to no avail. Maytag was no help either. Where can I find one of these?
