    Timer ID Help

Wow! Ridiculous indeed! I think I may have fixed it. I had to do some bushing work to it and reattach the gear shaft to the motor drive gear so it'd stop slipping. Seems to work now! Thanks for everyone's help!

Thank you! I didn't find an ADE309 either but that's what was on the model number plate.

    Timer ID Help

The timer on my Maytag ADE309 dryer bit the dust. It's got bits rattling around in it and it spins freely. I'm not finding a number that correlates to a part number.

I apologize for the bad picture! I meant to point out that the tub has been cleaned and looks a lot better now!

    Whirlpool A308 Tub Leak?

LowEfficiency Thank you for the info! I had suspected overfilling so I did open the top up and clean out the drain holes. They were indeed plugged. What would cause overfilling? The settings to control the fill seem to be working fine.

    Whirlpool A308 Tub Leak?

Okay, I've nearly got this machine mechanically 'flaw free' save for an irritating leak I can't track down. I think it's from this seam at the top of the tub. I've ruled out the hoses and valves. Is this a replaceable seal?

    GE Filterflo, should I buy?

Well I was turned down flat for my $100 offer. I suppose I will keep my eyes out for a more reasonable Filter Flo.

    GE Filterflo, should I buy?

So I love filter flo machines but just can't find one around here so I bought avocado Maytag set. Wouldn't you know that a filter flo pops up on marketplace now! They want to sell a dryer to but offered to sell just the washer for 170. Is that just to high?

    Maytag AA208 Maiden Washing Voyage!

So everything works on the old girl, I ran a small load of laundry through it and it performed well. The circuit tripping was just that outlet not providing enough amperage for the agitation cycle, so I plugged it in somewhere else. I have noticed that the water valves are slow at closing, it...

Maytag aa208 Update and Drainage Question

The sandpipe is about 6 feet from the floor,I'm planning on piping my homemade lift station into an access junction on the bathroom sink drain pipe. Another issue though! The timer was not shutting off. I'd pull to off and it would just keep going. So, I switched it with the spare timer and...

Maytag aa208 Update and Drainage Question

So I started digging into the old beast today. I cleaned and greased the motor slides, freed up the pump (just had ice in it), and cleaned up the inlet valves. Iron Out removed all the junk. I soaked the lint filter in Spic and Span and it cleaned right up. I don't have a spare water hose so I...

Maytag Washer AA208, Made It Home!

Has anyone considered drilling and tapping a fill and drain hole for the trans oil? Is something like that possible? I'll see how it behaves once I'm able to put the time towards testing it. I would like to give it its best lease on a continued life.

Maytag Washer AA208, Made It Home!

Cool, thank you all for the tips! Yes, that is a spare timer. The owner said they changed it when it wouldn't spin but it made no difference. I assume it probably works fine. The home definitely had hard water! The front panel had been removed by whoever looked at it trying to diagnose issues...
