40 MC 20 Needs More Info on Moen faucet

Thanks Eddie. I will attempt to disassemble the faucet but first: The sticky part is actually around the stem. I need to move the stem up and down while attempying to get the silicon around it. (I can remove the top of the faucet.)

40 MC 20 Needs More Info on Moen faucet

I'm aware that questions about the faucet have been asked before. This is one of the first faucets made by Moen and it did not have a cartridge. Leaky o-rings have been reported but my problem is that every year when I return to my summer cottage, the hadle movement gets stiffer and stiffer...

Bizarre American Standard push-button toilet from '70s.

PS Question: You are all I'm sure familiar with Moen cartridges. I used to replace the metal variety quite often, but have found the plastic ones last longer. Would this apply to the fill plungers? The parts site has both with plastic costing more. I'd like to know if you think plastic is better...

Bizarre American Standard push-button toilet from '70s.

Thank you all for your information and comments. I have been able to determine it is a Luxor model 2002 or 2003. If it is a vent-away or a non-ventaway (they were both with identical outside appearance) it turns out makes no difference as the leak is around the fill plunger common to all...

Bizarre American Standard push-button toilet from '70s.

I'm glad you are willing to tackle this. An elderly woman has been flushing this thing with a pail for some time. Over the phone I told her I could surely fix it, but when I saw it I was surprised to say the least! My initial research shows this toilet is a '70s AS toilet called the Vent-away...

Bizarre American Standard push-button toilet from '70s.

I doubt this site is the proper place for this posting, but I hoped someone could direct me to an appropriate site. When I hear back, I will either go to the site, or if someone here can help me, I will post details including photos. As always thanks very much!

    General Electric Sink

I had no idea my original post was kept! You can see from the photo that there was an extended stainless counter top. If these were sold as shown it must be a coincidence that the space between the left (perpendicular linoleum-covered counter with cutting board and wooden cabinets both above...

    General Electric Sink

A few years back I posted a thread about this. I believe my grandfather purchased it sometime in the 30's. The impeller assembly disintegrated and I found an old Sears assembly which fit perfectly. I also installed the Sears timer, included when I bought the washer, nice because it the original...

    Lady Maytag Dates of Manufacture

Thanks very much. My friend is selling her house and for some reason she wanted an exact date on her appliances. To the person who knows how to pronounce "Worcester" (my location): Did you ever live there? Since you are making fun of it did you know it's sometimes called "Wormtown," term coined...

Moen Faucet Issues Hotpoint Sink/Dishwasher Combo from 50's

Hello All, Still in operation! The problem is in the original Moen vertical mount single handle faucet. This was an early Moen that did *not* have a cartridge. Although the faucet shuts off perfectly the lever moves with great difficulty. Can anyone suggest a lubricant?? WD-40 works at first...

Final Report on A107 Hello all, I am finally happy to report that my A107 is spinning away perfectly. I have done a couple of loads and everything is flawless! Again thanks so much to all of you! I am so reluctant to replace this 80's machine as the new ones last so poorly with service...

Maytag A710 - Need help diagnosing a problem!

The other A170 guy (Actually A107) Your problem does not sound quite the same as mine, but don't rule out a severe voltage drop contributing. If you want more info on how to check yourself for this please let me know.

A107 Afterthoughts Thanks again. National Grid came last evening. It *was* a bad neutral. He got 95 v at the meter. Yes, don't know why the fridge started. I have a copper line with an aluminum neutral, Not a good combo. The earlier incident was on Cape Cod. An electric gate would run and...
