Free to good home 72 (?) GE clothes washer

Bump:: Could you post some pictures of this machine, especially shots of the inside and the control panel...I'm interested in getting it unless it's already gone.

New full size LG heat pump dryer - DLHC4002

Thank you for posting this; I might just buy one of these.

    Hotpoint Potwasher

Are you both talking about machines that had the Permatuf tub and the best upper rack ever designed?

Free to good home 72 (?) GE clothes washer

Where is it located? And can we get a close-up of the panel and a shot of the innards? I'd love to have at least one Filter-Flo that's in working condition.

    My brand new LG WM4200

I agree but since my first LG front loader cost me 150% more 20 years ago, this one didn't seem so expensive. And, as you said, there would be no need for a light if they just used clear glass. But I'm cheered to hear it has been performing well.

    My brand new LG WM4200

After a lot of window shopping I bought a new LG Front Loader after I swore some years ago that I wouldn't ever buy another LG product when my TROMM FL's circuit board shorted-out and LG didn't have the replacement part. Long story short is that NOTHING new appealed to me (except one of the...

45 miles east of nashville is a free brand new powerclean!

Two things I love about this particular machine: The gorgeous turquoise vinyl on the racks The steeply angled upper racks that facilitate drying cups and glasses without pools. The in-the-door flatware baskets. Oh dear, that's 3 things...also these Whirlpools had a rep for being really good...

KA-WP appliance merger in the '80s

Were the KitchenAid Front-Loaders any better than the Whirlpool or Kenmore models?

    Hotpoint Potwasher

When GE and its subsidiaries started using the term "Potwasher" (it's like one of Trump's lame and pathetic "Boast-Lies")to promote their mediocre dishwashers in the Seventies I actively persuaded my Parents to ditch those products and turn to KItchenAid. They were sold and never went back.

    Vintage GE Set

Well, is it or isn't it? I can't tell from the enlarged photo. Doesn't make that much of a difference to me. The one I really want is this one, the WWA-8500N. It featured a better choice of cycles, timer-controlled B and F dispensers and the very short lived powdered detergent dispenser. Alas...

    Help me decide

You hit the nail on the head. I am tempted to buy the MEGA for those times when I want to launder bulky bedding items, an occasional huge load of T-shirts ( I have big numbers of them that I wear most days for work) when I have allowed the hampers to fill up. The Mega would do that stuff and my...

    Help me decide

Thanks to all of you who responded. What about the MEGA dryer? Are these another bait and switch like the GE/Hotpoint machines? Big capacity with insufficient power and air-flow? I'd be willing to pay for the huge drum if it came with the performance. I would LOVE to get a "Little Giant" if...

    Help me decide

Thank you. I didn't know that the MEGA doesn't allow for manual dosing. I still like to use powdered detergents and those automtic dispenser systems only work for liquid. That alone might be the deal-breaker.

    Help me decide

For the last several months, I've been using a very nice local laundromat in Branford called the Sea Suds. I haven't used a laundromat since college, 45 years ago. I'm renovating my house and all of my vintage machines are either in storage (the ones I want to keep), gone to a neighbor who takes...

    For The GE Filter-Flow Guys

1978. My Parents had this model bought for an apartment they moved into that year. It was paired with the BOL dryer that matched it. They were happy with it. The dryer lasted at least 16 years; the washer had to be replaced after 12 years. Don't remember the cause.

Jon, that AI image is AMAZING! What program are you using?

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Loved this. Would the Frigidaire Rollermatic that Consumer Reports totally dissed in their 1969 Automatic Washers report now qualify as a bona-fides water saver? I wondered how and why CU would take a once Check-Rated Brand and throw it to the wolves. And yes, I remember that the big negative...

    New Kenmore Front Loaders

Do any of you have any information on these machines? Who manufactures them?

    GE Mobile Maid

My Mother, who was no fan of automatic dishwashers, especially ones with lots of different cycles, eventually DEIGNED to wash her very expensive English Bone China (that had gold over-glaze piping) in our wonderful 1962 GE SU-70. It was the only time she'd ever use one of the three other cycle...
