    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

Yes, you’re exactly right and that’s why I’m not sure if I’ll use it too often, as the Auto cycle will deal with the same soiling and use slightly less, although obviously will have a longer run time. I think what it might be really useful for, especially with the 3l fills even on the rinses...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

Just unloaded this morning and the ComfortWash+ cycle has cleaned everything - macaroni cheese was burnt on (actually burnt on twice as I reheated leftovers for lunch) to the stoneware Le Creuset dish and has been removed completely. Remainder of the load was just light to average soiled midweek...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

Curiosity got the better of me and I used ComfortWash+ tonight; prewash, 55°C wash, 70°C final rinse with extra dry, all in 2:15. Included in the load was an oven dish with macaroni cheese burnt on. Will see how it’s done when I unload tomorrow morning.

    car feature subscriptions...

Maybe it’s because I’m of a younger(ish) generation, but I couldn’t be without Apple CarPlay or the reversing cameras and sensors. I will admit though it’s a shock when I reverse a car without one and I have to actually look where I’m going 😂.

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

Personally I think at £999 the G7865 is a steal for what it is, and if your family isn’t great at dishwasher Tetris (same as mine) then the Miele is probably more forgiving. Even my partner can load the Miele without major difficulty, it’s the first one we’ve had where he doesn’t complain 😂...

It is - 2 litres TDi, averages 60-70mpg on a motorway run (and we aren’t light footed). We had a petrol Audi before the Merc and that was almost as economical too, but not quite. We’ve also just got rid of a 2006 1.9TDi Golf, engine still running perfectly at 170k miles but unfortunately...

Generally Audi/VW seem to be very reliable over here, we’ve never had much trouble with several Audis/VWs over the years. Mercedes less so, which is why we got rid. Never had trouble with fixing VAG cars over the years, but then again they are more mainstream here, most garages will fix them...

Our 2023 Audi S3 Sportline is a brilliant car, has every feature you could possibly want - electric seats, heated seats, climate etc and we love it. However, it only has cruise as standard - for radar adaptive cruise (a standard feature on base VWs a few years back) you have to pay a...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

I’d personally go for the G7655SCVi from the outlet with the extra height interior of your units will accommodate for it. We have a G7130SC which is just over a year old now, which replaced a 2022 Siemens IQ700 so feel like I can compare both quite well. First things first, my...

very weird behavior on new Bosch Serie 8 dishwasher: do they change operation if water gets too sudsy? what is this noise? (with a video)

Interestingly I find the newer Fairy Platinum Plus much better than previous iterations for cavitating. I much prefer Fairy vs Finish for cleaning, and Fairy also seems to be the only detergent that doesn’t leave an iridescence effect on stainless steel pans. The worst I’ve encountered for...

very weird behavior on new Bosch Serie 8 dishwasher: do they change operation if water gets too sudsy? what is this noise? (with a video)

The pump is cavitating from excess suds. Nothing wrong with the machine itself. I’ve found in my experience Finish tablets tend to be the worst tablets in the European market for sudsing and cavitating.

    GE washers...

Haier have improved quality immeasurably in the past few years, and the latest range of Haier designed & made Hoover/Candy machines here in the UK that are just being released now have a design life of 20 years, and are a huge improvement over the previous Italian Hoover/Candy designs used over...

What are your thoughts on Asko washing machines

The parent company is Hisense, but the design itself is still Asko. Designed in Sweden still I believe, but built in Slovenia.

What are your thoughts on Asko washing machines

Those deals aren’t bad atm, they are launching the new range soon so the deals on the outgoing models are brilliant. For less than the cost of a mid range Miele you’ve got yourself a really good set there for the money.

New Miele DW does not regenerate

Great to hear you’re getting good results - I have noticed that this Miele gets stuff much cleaner and shinier than the Siemens IQ700 we had previously (although that was a lemon from the start, so not really a truly fair comparison). Interesting ref the Auto cycle - generally more times than...

What are your thoughts on Asko washing machines

They do have recirculation - it enters at the top of the tub rather than through the seal, not dissimilar to the original Zanussi Jetsystem machines. Asko Prowash

GE Appliances/Haier Moving FL Washer Manufacturing to Appliance Park, US

The latest Haier and Hisense laundry ranges sold here in Europe seem to be very well made - they still have split tubs, have 4 suspension legs rather than 2 or 3, and most have a 5 year warranty. Some TOL Haier machines have 10 years parts and labour warranty. Much like Kia, Dacia and Skoda...

Would you have a 5 year old Hisense fridge repaired?

I’ve always found Hisense to be decent for the money. Not appliance related, but we have a sub £300 Hisense TV in our bedroom which has a better picture and has been more reliable than our main LG in the living room which was 3 times the price.

what happens on the Machine Care program on my Bosch Serie 8 PowerControl dishwasher?

I don’t think you can beat citric acid for descaling the kettle, coffee machine or the washing machine/dishwasher. It’s great at bringing the shine back on stainless steel sinks too.
