Scenario #1 - People are lazy and fail to delete their ads. You are talking to air.
Scenario #2 - You call or email and they say/email that it was sold or they don't have it. I flag those each day, til the ad is gone because sometimes the ones that are not deleted are desirable items. Some are rare, so why leave the ad up? If I reached a seller who discovers I'm interested, you would think they would delete it. That they don't….it needs a flag!
Scenario #3 - I won't provide the example, but some people don't have the product. What are they doing? Having fun, like some kid making prank phone calls. I know people reply to CL for sport only, acting out an interest in the for sale item(s).
I'm sure you all have some correlative experiences. Weirdness abounds on CL, but it works well for me, usually.
