1 Minute 20 Second Spray Rinse?

What would cause this Maytag to have a 1 minute 20 second spray rinse that I came across in this video? Spray starts at 20:05, but doesn't end until 21:25. Does that mean Maytag is using a 90 second increment timer? I feel like this is to good to be true. But if it is, I love it!

The 310/410/710/810 models used a 2/3 205864 timer motor which advanced every 45 seconds.

So this really is real! That is just so... I still can't believe it lol.

 

Do you have a tech sheet showing the cycle increments?

 

Do you know why Maytag choose a 90 second spray over a 45 second spray? I would think water and energy regs were starting to kick in.

You're right. I did the math. At 18:35 spin starts, spray starts at 20:05. Thats exactly 1 minute 30 seconds or two increments at 45 seconds. Same with the post spray spin time before the motor drops off- 1 minute 35 seconds. That would also be two 45 second increments again.

 

 

 

 

 

I never knew Maytag made a double increment spray rinse washer. More washers should be made to have long spray rinses like this. Just so refreshing to see and hear.

 

 

The rinse water is so clean to. In theory you could add two extra increments of spin where the motor drops off, two increments of spray rinse after that and 8 increments after that for a 6 minute final spin.

 

 

Thus as a proposal-

 

6- increments allocated for filling.

 

14- increments for washing

 

2- for spin

 

2- for spray

 

2- for spin

 

2- for spray

 

8- for final spin

 

= 27 minute cycle total

I can't thank you enough for that thread. I will definitely have to do this one day. I refuse to use any appliance with semiconductors inside of it so I will eventually have to use a Maytag- and when I do its getting a 45 second advance timer. IMO I think all Maytags lack a real extra Clean / Heavy duty cycle. Being able to extended the 10/12 minute wash time to that of a Kenmore or GE washer becomes a huge advantage. I've thought about transplanting a filter flo timer on an Pitman or Orbital Maytag but it still won't give me a long spin spray outside of the PP cycle.

 

Last question- do you have a service manual for the  310/410/710/810 series or a tech sheet that goes to one of them?
