LG Tromm Front Loader

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to tweak the water level on these things? I mean, I'm all for saving water, and that why I've used FL's for the past 20+ years, but this is getting ridiculous. I would like a little more then a cup of water to was my '21' bath towels. I love my ASKO because I can hit the "high water" rinse and get two good extra deep rinses added for a total of 7 rinses, but I miss my LG capacity. There must be a way to ekkk out a few more drops per cycle.

Anyone know how?

The water level control is not a simple pressure switch but a frequency generator. You may be able to get more water each fill by adjusting the screw on the sensor and void whatever warranty you have on the unit as well. What model do you have? "Tromm" is not descriptive enough.

LG Tromm

I have an LG Tromm front load machine. Use the Permanent Press cycle along with the Water Plus button. This will give you more than enough water to effectively clean your clothes.

Hmmm, well I'll have to go out to the garage and uncover it an take a look at it for the model number.

It's 2.5 years old and does't have a water plus button.

How about

running the cycle, and then running another rinse and spin after?

I feel your pain on this issue--something I find maddening about the front loaders of today. The cycle length could be cut in half if it would only fill with enough water.

I do know that the Perm Press Cycle on an LG will use a decent amount of water, while the other cycles only get the load just barely wet, without a drop to spare.

I dont know what a frequency generator is or how it controls things, but if you discover how to tweak it that would be interesting to learn about. I have a Frigidaire 3.5 cubic foot FL with a pressure switch, which I easily rigged to fill 1/3 of the way up the window each time. I am getting much better cleaning results now.

I two of them here and I have never been able to get the water level any higher on any cycle but the Perm Press cycle I have tried filling in that cyle then change to another but it just drains the water out.. This is only one of the things I hate about these machines.. I do not like washing in a quart of water. (if that much).

My steam washer does fine w/ just a touch of water. The clothes are always clean. Isn’t it about getting the clothes clean, and not about how much water?

Anyway try this:
With the machine empty set it for an Extra High Spin. (Push power, push the spin speed button until you reach extra high, push start).

Let it spin until it gets going pretty fast (there’s another trick to get it to climb up to 1320 rpm right away, but I’m afraid to post it because if you do it with clothes in it; you can ruin it, as the unbalance detector is bypassed).

Push power (the power goes off) immediately push power again (the power comes on and the control panel lights up, before it slows down to a stop, turn the knob one time to the right to Cotton/Normal, push water plus, extra rinse, rinse & spin, and then start (you must do all of the steps and push start before the tub stops spinning.)

Let the water start to fill and then pause it and add clothes. It will rinse at the highest possible water level which is used in the “tub clean” cycle with an extra high and extra long tumble speed, then spin at extra high, and repeat the process, followed by a 14 minute 1320 RPM spin.

It works on the Steam Washer (check my profile for the model #), and may not work on all models. You can always try it and just skip pushing the water plus button if you don’t have it. Let me know if it works.
