1930s Vintage Universal Electric Stove For Sale

Recently, my father was in the process of selling his family’s homestead, and we found a 1930s Universal electric stove while cleaning out the house. We know this stove is from the 1930s as my grandmother purchased it in the late 1930s from the original owner.

The machine is currently located in Durham, NC. We would like to sell this stove to someone that specializes in renovating antique appliances. Is there anyone reading this message that might be able to assist us? If you are interested in purchasing or know someone that might be interested in purchasing this vintage appliance, please let me know.

We also have a 1930s Bendix automatic washer to sell from this estate.

You'll probably find more people here who could be interested in the Bendix.  If you have pictures of it, please consider adding them to the thread you started about it in the Imperial forum. 

 

The stove looks pretty rough and being electric could present a real challenge to making it fully functional again.  There's far more interest in gas stoves of that vintage than electric.  If the legs are still around that may help you pass it along, but I honestly think that as is, the value would barely be into the three figures.

The open coil rear burner looks to be original, but the two in front were fitted with replacement elements at some point and are probably much more efficient than the rear one.  If someone wanted to restore this stove, they would have a hard time finding the original coils for those front two burners.

 

I once had an L&H electric stove of similar vintage and it had all open coil burners.  Back in those days, I'll bet electric stoves were a tough sell over gas across the board except for the facts that they provided a cleaner heat source and kept the kitchen somewhat cooler.

Hi James.

This is just a suggestion, but I think if you can put the legs back on it, and use a little Bar Keepers Friend cleanser on it
( helps remove rust) it will show better, therefore may assists in a sale here or on your C.L or eBay.
