I was wondering how rare the 1954 or 55 westinghouse slant front laundromats are?

The reason why I`m asking is I would like to buy a pair soon for static display for my collection .

They don`t have to work & I prefer original condition & was wondering how rare they are & what I might have to pay for them.

They are beautiful to say the least.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A good set is always hard to find!

Oh my, you will be the envy of a few board members if you can get them for a decent price!
What to pay for them is a tough call - most of our members seem to find things for what I would perceive as low prices. If they are local and will not involve a lot of transportation expense, bite the bullet and be willing to pay a little more for them.
It's not a very good reference, but I bought a non-working-in-need-of-a-total-tear-down-and-rebuild Westy L5 (born July 10, 1950) from an estate sale in Tampa, FL for $150. It then cost me $800 to truck it from Tampa to my country home in Ogden.
I was chasing after a set like you have found last year and I thought I had it for $500 (there would have been shipping charges too).
Oh and do be aware that there is definitely a 'right' way to transport the Westy washer (learned THAT lesson the hard way, too). There is a way to bolt the top of the washer frame to the tub balancing counterweights to prevent the tub from slipping off the snubber assembly; I do beleive that some kind of bracing in the rear of the wash tub is also required.
There are lots of highly experienced and knowledgable members here who've <been there and done that> who will surely be able to give you more precise information.
Good luck and please post some pictures if you can!!

You can be sure...

I liked the old slant front Laundromats so much that, while in O'ahu last month, I had one traced and tattooed on my left arm!!

I prefer FREE RINSING over any other kind- it does so much better! I think it is the way Betty discribes how the clothes are tipped back into the machine...!
