1956 Kenmore ( GE ? ) pushbutton stove

I don't think it is a GE/Hotpoint, they had five heat settings, these (and several other Kenmores of similar vintage) had seven. Maybe it is a Roper... from what I can find, Sears owned almost 50% of Roper in the 1950s, and more than 50% of Roper sales were to Sears... and when Roper merged with a Sears subsidiary in the 1960s, more than 75% of Roper sales were to Sears. Roper grew with Sears and bought back many of its shares in the 1980s, followed by the bidding war between GE and Whirlpool... and part of what GE was seeking with the acquisition was an inroad into Sears. Interesting history story that I was able to find on the internet. So I am thinking it is a Roper stove, rather than a GE/Hotpoint...

Roper built this also, the vents in the oven door give it away, no one else ever did that, good ranges, although slow heating ovens as the top unit is used for broiling only, but they do bake fine.
