Oh wow, my aunt had one of those through '68. Hers was white, and had power windows which always went down but didn't always want to go up. Likewise the power door locks which would lock some doors but not all. She swapped it in for a new Chevy wagon in '68, pointedly ordered without power locks or windows. The Chevy was certainly more reliable, but nowhere near as cool as that '60 Mercury hardtop!

Even the asking price is reasonable.

I would feel comfortable dealing with this seller.

Someone is going to have a beautiful car.

There's a big car show here, "North Meets South" I believe it's called, and 2 big car clubs meet each year and bring these big sleds. I try to go every year, because the cars are all restored to, or still in, original condition, and they are all the luxury liners of the past.

That is one amazing wagon. Love the pole-less roof line.

I'm not so sure about the condition of the body though. It's wavey gravey, and especially down at the shut lines for the doors against the rocker panels, it looks full of body filler. The paint also doesn't have the right level of shine, and combined with the paint up onto the window gaskets, it's looking to me like a one-stage metallic, cheapy paint job.

We had fun last Memorial Day at the Lambda Car Club meet in St. Louis. There was a Buick s/w from 1958 which was a "Body by Ionia" (rather than Body by Fisher). Back in those days, Ionia was an outsourced part of GM which made one-off type bodies as well as Oldsmobile and Buick station wagon bodies. Apparently they weren't quite up to the standards of Chevy/Pontiac (Body by Fisher) as far as body integrity, but are an interesting footnote (this was the era of body-on-frame construction)

That wagon is so freakin cool!! So many great cars, so little space...and money to restore them!!
