After ordering a newer timer with a 12 tooth gear, the drive shaft is too big to

put the 10 tooth gear on. Tomorrow I am going to Lemco Electric, a place that has

been around forever in my hometown. I took the dryer motor in to be rebuilt and as

soon as I walked in, they guy at the counter said 'That's an old Westinghouse

dryer motor!' They even have Lewt vacuum bags hanging on the wall collecting dust.

This place is stacked to the rafters with old stuff!..Anyway here is the timer

pic again if anyone has one sitting around!

Hold the Phone...RedRover...

Is there enough room to have it drilled out...a simple drill press and the right size bit to cause a slight press fit...would that work?

I would almost wager that guy at the shop would even be able, if there is room for the gear/timer assembly to fit back on the timer.

Good Luck

Then...that only leaves turning down the shaft...

And I know, without a buddy @ a machine shop who would really try, it might be out of the question.

Still, talk to several different people locally, and get many ideas...it might just surprise you what some can ponder...

Best of Luck
