Mileage

138.79 miles....holton to omaha.

And I'm going to be in Wichita the first weekend of March for my sister's wedding. Wonder if this would fit in the back of my Ford Ranger....

Asked question

I asked the seller if he would hold them until the first of march until I could get up there. We'll see.

"You may think I'm foolish
For the foolish things I do
You may wonder how come I love you
When you get on my nerves like you do
Well baby you know you bug me
There ain't no secret 'bout that
Well come on over here and hug me
Baby I'll spill the facts
Well honey it ain't your money
'Cause baby I got plenty of that
I love you for your pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back
Oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money
On a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what you do there in back
Of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac"

*LOL*

Worth it....

OK, kind ladies and gentlemen (or wherever we fall into the two aforementioned categories) of the jury...

What do you think of the aforementioned item up for bid? I contacted the seller and agreed to hold them until I could get up there. I'm just wondering if this is something that I could work on myself or if it's just going to be an oversized bookend...

Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jeff

Westinghouse Laundromat pair in pink

Duetboy, these are a classic!!!It is rare to find them in matching pairs especially in colors without being beat up or rusted out.Westinghouse was the first appliance manufacturer to make these space saving gems (Space Mates)and even though their capacity is about 8 pounds, the beauty and performance of them is unremarkable! To pass up a chance like this is an appliance collector's sin.I've heard nightmare stories about those of us who've allowed items like this go to the smashers and we have all cried agitating tears!Without collectors and restorers of appliances, there would be no so called "history of appliances" as we see it.Of course, whoever takes the challange and buys these beauties is going to have to name them!My recomendation would be "Flamingo".LOL

OK OK OK

You talked me into it...however, I believe they had a reserve on it. I was hoping to pick these up just like I am....cheap. However I had to go a bit higher than I had hoped. Then again, the sale is still young!

aka jkt

PS. And he'll bring'em down to Mom's while I'm there! Cant beat that with a stick!

Next Question

To haul these back from kansas to arkansas, IF I GET THEM, will it hurt to lay them down on their back's? Also, can I assume that they come apart? Tips, Tricks, Helpful hints are welcome!

I have a ford ranger with an open bed. I'll take my moving blankets with me, however I'm a bit nervous about hauling them standing up!

Yes they separate there are bolts that hold the dryer to the top of the washer, you would flip this dryer right side up for side by side or undercounter use, after you flip the dryer the chrome plates pull off and you flip them too so the westinghouse panel is right side up. even the Chrome script "clothes dryer" pops off and can be turned right side up. We had these machines when i was growing up. when the laundromat gave out my dad flipped the dryer.to go with a new top loader, ours were white and did not have that cabinet door between the washer and dryer just a yellow "spacer strip" hope this helps. these have more gadgets, ours was BOL single dial on the washer and dryer. alr2903.

Moving

I`m sure the best way to move the washer will be upright unless you have the transit brackets to secure the drum, if you dont have the transit brackets you can take the top off and wedge the drum against the sides using rolled up towels, back & sides, or heavy blackets, anything to stop the drum moving about.

Happy moving, these are beauties

Mike
