Damn, that's only a 3000 km drive away..
These are the exact vintage of my parents old FF machine.
Although, the one my parents had as a little higher end as it had a suds saver in it which they never used.
Outside of the missing suds saver knob, I would be very tempted to pick this set up, if only just for the memories.

I meant, on this set, the washers control panel doesn't have a suds saver knob on the control panel whatsoever.
My parents one had a chrome knob in the middle which was used to save suds. My father had it taped over, otherwise if it was accidentally moved, it would flood the basement. (My parents had no idea how to use a suds saver.)
I only shudder to think of the cost I'd have to pay to get these shipped over here. Not to mention the mayhem that would happen after my wife found out that we now own a second set of machines, if only for nostalgic reasons..

Other than older models, I don't think I've seen a suds-saver in this era of GE in a long time. They were very rare around here for some reason (suds saver washers in general) but in other parts of the country they were very popular. I've never understood why that is, but of all the vintage machines I've found locally, none were suds-savers.
This is a lovely set, wish it were closer so I could beat myself up over bringing it home - I know just how your wife feels. LOL! This is the washer I got from John in Maryland a couple of years ago, almost the same but one speed. Love this washer, almost just like the one my mother had growing up.
