This is a 1962-63 model, with this timer, it's an earlier production model as the later ones changed the background color for the 3 setting wheels for the timer from black to white and then the openings were made larger.
The last year for pink was 1965.
As for the which ones were the "better ones" well, it depends of what you define as being better!
I think the early models like this one were more simple and they are also more simple to repair. The later models had nice features but more complicated oven controls. I never owned a post-1963 model but I wish I had one of the late-production US-market "N" models.
Here in Canada, the Flair ranges were almost identical to the US versions in 1960-64 but the 1965 and later models were not... They kept being more simple and never had the motorized thermostats or the integrated vent hoods like the "N" models had.
