1970 GE bottom mount refrigerator freezer

This was about the last of the GE built, bottom mount refrigerators, this one used electric defrost, not hot guest defrost. These did not hold up quite as well as the hot guest defrost models. They were usually 19 ft.³ and 34 inches wide this one’s only about 30 1/2 inches wide.

Not surprisingly the icemaker is gone the icemaker GE used back in these days was really a great performing product, but it was very unreliable.

Otherwise, it looks like it’s in pretty good shape. It would use a lot of electricity.

My cousins got a GE bottom freezer refrigerator in Oct. 1973, and it was Shaded Coppertone. It was purchased from Rike's in Dayton, OH. I remember this because I was at their house when it was delivered, and I remember the younger son Robbie was 14 at the time. Possibly it was leftover stock if GE had stopped making them.
