I was helping my cousin renovate her upstairs. When we pulled up the old flooring, we found old newspapers from Kitchener and Toronto from 1971. Every store sold hot pants.
1971.
I don't think you could get a shirt laundered for twenty five cents now. I don't think you would want to really go to down town Kitchener, period
Grabber green with a ? Mark indeed! Never heard of that color. But now googling it, I see that I have definitely seen it before. Im familiar with grabber orange though.
On the Eaton's ad, I didn't know they had leisure suits that far back. I thought that was more mid 70s. I can't tell if that one is 100% polyester. It must be to be a Real leisure suit.
My grandma still uses a GE bonnet hair dryer like the one in the Eaton's ad, hers is beige. Still going strong after all these years. I don't think any of the China crap sold today will still be in use 40yrs later!
That 12" B&W television would be about $550 in today's money. (Assuming that inflation for Canadian and U.S. dollars has been about the same.) Last I checked you can get a basic 48" LCD for that now.
