IIRC that condenser design is (was?) patented from a line of commercial refrigeration that was Maytag's as well. It is said to be self-cleaning and durable compared to a standard coil and fin arrangement! I believe I have seen it in some Amanas (another one of Maytag's lines) as well. Wonder if Whirlpool will allow it to live on..........
