Hi boys, I have just got myself a Hoovermatic twin tub , model number 3334 , the outer casing has the usual bumps and scratches as to be expected but when I took the worktop cover off it looks like new.
Took the back off and again absolutely pristine, no rust, no corrosion and works perfectly.
I know some of you guys are able to date machines and just out of curiosity wondered just how old it might be.
Can anyone tell me?
Thanks
Lance

Hoovermatic - First Produced 1961

Hi Lance, nothing like a Hoovermatic to make a splash on washday!!!, looking forward to seeing the pics....just make sure the hoses are okay, sometimes after not being used for a while they look okay but then will bulge & crack with hot water, (how do I know that!!) quick tip is to cover inside hoses with black duct tape!!

Heres the production dates: First produced in 1961 and ended its run in 1964

March 1961 - 25,305
July 1961 - 117,900
Jan 1962 - 213,957
July 1962 - 307,312
Jan 1963 - 388,611
July 1963 - 524,235
Jan 1964 - 625,070

another try at photos

Thanks for that Mike, considering its as old as me its doing a lot better than me!
All the hoses appear to be perfect , when i took the back off it looks like new although it has obviously been used it has been well looked after.
Unfortunately the outer case is a bit shabby but nothing that a good spray job wont put right.
I have also bought an old Ada wringer machine, in the process of respraying that one so photos later.

Value

It is very difficult to say, as it all depends on what interest there is at the particular time, sometimes they make quite a lot of money, sometimes not - I bought on in pretty good condition in London, off ebay, for £10.

It is in your interest to take lots of pictures so that potential buyers can see what they are getting. Once you have it listed, cut and paste the URL to the Shoppers Square forum here (its the white box to the right hand side of the items shown at the top of the page) for, if it is going to sell, this is probably the best place for it to be seen.

Good luck with your auction

Al
