Featuring, a link to 8-Track Shack:
Different running order & sometimes (depending on how much/less you like the song, maybe what song) the songs divided into a Part 1/Part 2, are what characterizes this neat format--had my share & somehow mostly of ones that snapped while playing, especially orange-cartridges that were especially hard to keep permanently in my collection as much as those being the 1st to be thrown away...
Bought mine in the late-'80's as everyone was selling what was a truly dead format, while the players had their neat, characteristics, also one-of-a kind, but I settled for what was the last NEW one ever made, a Realistic from Radio Shack, that I wanted no more, but as a small auxiliary unit that just plugs into the stereo, even if the plastic Program button & system differed sonically from those metal ones--and finally learned what was meant by "Program" as I'd seen the players & tapes have, and learned (from a friend's, auxiliary, too, actually) how all that worked...
Enjoyed until the early-'90's, then my eschewing of cassettes followed, though I have a couple, one of which I can only get on that format (Steve Fisk), while a certain Bobby Goldsboro GREATEST HITS, I think also is an exclusive, of which the "third" of those, I'd briefly had, which I'd bought NEW off of eBay, broke, hence, reduced to a pair, as the used copy, I hope continues to run forever more... (Just fast-forwarded it, so I could play Side 2 of it, as the initial copy, took me a few minutes to realize that the leader tape broke off, right after it finished Side 1!)
