Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Suggestion:

More information on your specific likes and dislikes would be very helpful here. Do you like the rounded, bulbous look of '50s appliances? Do you prefer the "space age" sleekness of '60s units? And what about function - do you prefer gas or electric? Is a self-cleaning oven important to you?

For all-around reliability and repairability, General Electric ranges are a very viable choice, and they came in the colors you're interested in for over ten years, in both '50s and '60s versions. Beginning in the Fall of 1963, GE was the first appliance manufacturer to offer self-cleaning ovens.

Frigidaire ranges are high-quality units as well, but General Motors sold Frigidaire to White Consolidated Industries (now Electrolux) in the late 1970s, with the result that parts for GM-built units can sometimes be a little harder to come by. Range burners and their supports are a bit of a challenge sometimes.

Anyway, you will get to your goal faster if you say, "I want a so-and-so." Deciding what's right for you will help speed things up.

1960s or so....daily use....electric range stove

I prefer 1960's era and it must be electric and functioning for daily use. I dont care if self cleaning or not.

Dean:

The range Tee has presently is Harvest Gold, and what's wanted to replace it is true Yellow or Turquoise.

Tee: If you have a choice, self-cleaning is better than not. Ovens are more heavily insulated, making the oven cheaper to operate while baking. Also, self-cleaning is kinder to the environment than aerosol cans of oven cleaner, which are highly caustic chemicals.

We'll find it.

My current stove

My current stove replaced a 2013 frigidaire which I detested. Old yeller, the GE i have now, is better but has a broken hinge on the small oven and corrosion on the chrome, rusty drawers, chips, scratches, torn door gaskets, etc. I am not in a hurry, but if my dream stove is out there, i don't want to miss it. I want to be the one who puts the hard miles on my next range.
