With any knowledge of where I can find parts, please let me know, I have hunted one of these foe many years, ever since I saw Michael Hays's years ago, He has every accessory and it really is amazing.

I can't quite tell from your pictures but is that a stand alone model because I wasn't aware of such a thing. I thought they were all built in units for counters or roll around carts.

I have a near complete Nutone system that I've never installed because I'm very very reluctant to cut into our countertops as well as losing the use of a drawer or two beneath.  Although I would dearly love to have it installed.

That countertop unit is very nice. I've seen 2 or 3 advertised for sale over the past few years. It looks like it has the plug on the side for the cooking vessel heating element. I have "el cheapo" laminate counter tops so cutting a hole for my built-in unit is no problem. The problem is finding space where nothing below will interfere with it. I've installed too many appliances like ice machines and microwave drawers. Out in the garage I have one of those Gaggenau built-in food steamers (another "bright" idea) that I intended to sink into the countertop too...ain't gonna happen.

Our old home came with a Foodmatic...the only thing I ever used was the mixer. I'll probably do the same with all this stuff

We got the stand alone unit back in the early 70's, just the bowls and beaters.  Used it for many years but now it's sitting in a cupboard in the basement, have not used it for years.  If I ever came across a cheap cook and stir for it I might be temped to move it back into the kitchen, but everyone I see goes for $$$.

Celebrity Having Foodmatic

in the early 70s Dinah Shore bragged about having a Foodmatic in her Palm Springs home. The unit was a built in one and had the two custom trays for the attachments below the unit behind custom cabinets. There was an article in Woman's Day Magazine, interviewing her about the release of her second cookbook and there were pictures of her in the kitchen and three of the recipes from the book included too. One of the recipes was a cheesecake. Dinah mentioned in the article that her son liked to cook and that he taught her how to cook soft scrambled eggs.

Mixing Ability

How does the Foodmatic compare to using a KitchenAid or Mixmaster in mixing cakes, cookies, beating egg whites, there is also a dough hook for kneading too. The blender resembles the current KitchenAid blenders having wide long blades and having the ability to crush ice without adding water.

Hans,

I'll keep my eyes peeled for attachment, parts, etc. I think I've only seen one of those over the years. For some reason, built-in anything was not very popular in the Detroit area. Growing up, everyone worked for the auto companies, and the idea rammed into all of us was to always have the newest, latest model. Things that were built-in were too hard to change.

I knew people who got new stoves, refrigerators, etc. every four or five years. Not because they needed them, but because the ones they had looked out-dated. This was a very Detroit approach to consumerism!

I just noticed in that above pic,, the motor housing for the Ronson looks absolutely huge compared to the Nutone.. of course it has to hold the fold down unit as well..but geeze..

Nutones were much more commonly seen here than Ronsons.. And plenty of apartment buildings built in the 70's featured them I'm supposing as  an enticement to draw in renters.  The builders probably got a deal on them because the vast majority of apartment buildgins also had Nutone  door/intercoms in the foyer and apartments as well.

Mr. Mixguy...

Any KitchenAid is a tough act to follow. Of course there are now many quality mixers with planetary action. The Foodmatic mixer is just fun to use. The bowls turn on a powered base. As far as the blender, it's ok for most "blender" things but I don't think crushing ice is it's forte'. The Foodmatic ice crusher attachment does a great job.
