Ran across this photo, and just wanted to share it. I think I've heard about Shorpy from other members, with interesting photos.

That's a Blackstone model 50A in the picture, and the comment below is correct. It does weigh a ton. If you think that delivering Blackstones into a basement was difficult, what about deliveries to the 2nd or 3rd floors?

It was great, Fred ,

Seeing a long hose on a wringer washer. And that Blackstone has a really big one. So used to the too short, too inflexible hoses on the Maytag, Lady K, and the Norge, especially. It was cool to be reminded that they used to put good, long hoses that had some reach, on the Wringers.

Also, neat to see the Automatic. Before this, had only seen the two-doored front with two red dials. Thought that was the first design. Not so. A new learning near bedtime. Thanks.
