Browsing real estate again tonight...saved these pics for those interested. Original install GE kitchen in a home in North Carolina. Some of it appears to have originally been turquoise...

Oh my... they have the optional under counter freezer!  I get the impression the wall refrigerator is no longer working as there is a standalone newer one at one end the kitchen.  Still, they managed to keep most of the unit!
 
why didn't these catch on

We lived in a 1955 ranch when I was growing up and we had the fridge in pink, even had the glass storage sliders on the bottom. It was a cool concept and as I recall easy to access. I don't recall my mother ever complaining that it was too big or too small or difficult to get things in or out. I've always wondered why the concept didn't survive. Not cost effective? I agree with the above comment that it looks like it's out of service due to the free standing model in the background. Would it be impossible to get replacement parts today?
