Jimmy,yes they do have a vintage look to them. Like an old shoe box of 1950's yellowed Kodachrome snapshots that had forty+ years of nicotine on them.... LOL!! You have prolly come across a few boxes like that in your business.

Thanks for the pics, Rick! I notice the WP has two tub lights (and an ultraviolet light), whereas both the 1959 and 1960 KM models I used had only one light, in the front. There was no light on the left side. The light in front came with a full-size appliance bulb, whereas I notice you have a night-light style bulb there. Very cool! Nice chrome agi-cap, too.

Looks like the flash didn't go off for whatever reason. On some cameras, you are warned that flash is needed, but it's not automatic and you have to manually turn it on. My Minolta "Talker" is like that. If flash is needed, a little female voice says "Too dark, use flash" but I then have to manually pop up the flash.

Yes, appliances with lights. Not red LEDs or digital readouts or ghostly-green touchscreens, but oldfashioned incandescent or small fluorescent lights. Reminds me of stuff we had when I was a kid.

Hi Juane, the flash on the camera was on. I think perhaps the camera got dropped. It belongs to the president of the company I work for,and lots of employees use it for work related business. I had used it a while back and the photos came out ok. Prolly just an accidental boo boo by someone.I will take some nice 35 mm photos after the matching dryer is finished and scan and post them. Even though it is more work,$$ and time,I still say 35mm photos look the best.

Absolutely Georgeous Machine Rick

MY childhood friend had one in his basement and I'll never forget the first time I ever saw it spin! I couldn't figure out how that tub ring didn't turn with the tub! THAT was COOL!
And then I had never seen a spray in spin and almost jumped off my feet when I saw that!

We had a 1956 GE and the tub ring goes with the tub and there is no spin spray!

Love all the lights are they original fixtures or did you add some along the way!

Thanks Jet, the lights are original. There are eight lights in all on this machine. The matching dryer I am restoring has eight lights also. The early automatics were like magic in comparison to a wringer washer. This one was their TOL,and they "pulled out all the stops" for it. I am very lucky to have it.

35mm definately is better at this time. A digital camera needs over 5 megapixels of resolution to equal 35mm quality, and those camers are still in the over $500 price range. FYI, in the meantime, unless you really need prints, you can get just the CD and the negatives and save $. Then you don't have to store or scan prints to get them uploaded to sites. You can always get specific prints made from the CD or the negatives if you really need them.

A quick perusal of Crutchfield.com (just 'cause that's the first site that came to mind) finds a variety of 5 megapixel cameras ranging from $229.99 to $399.99 and some 7 megapixel models for $599.99.

Wow, prices are really starting to drop, then. I've been holding out till digital reached 35mm quality at a price under $500. Were they SLR's, rangefinders, or point & shoots?
