I have a 66 Lady K with an issue. I can't run it in slow or extra slow speeds. At certain points it will freeze up, all the speed lights will come on, and it will whine and whail till I come either bump the timer or I pop it back to normal speed. i have changed the motor I've checked the wiring and I've tried to clean the timer but no change. Any ideas?

It could either be a mechanical binding condition, but if it runs through cycle A or B [ all hi speed motor operation ] fine then I think you might have an electrical issue with the timer or possibility the extra motor speed switches on the back of the mechanical push-button mechanism. It is normal whenever this washers motor starts for all three speed indicator lights to flash on for a split second or for them to stay on if the motor is stalled.

I would try removing the belt from the motor pulley and running the motor through the parts of the cycle where the washer has had problems, you will have to attach a small piece of tubing to the water level Sw and blow into it and pinch it off to get the motor to run in the agitation periods. It is possible you got another bad motor or maybe neither motor is bad and the timer is faulty, Good Luck, John.

I've tried running it without belt still does it. I'm really expecting it's the timer but I'm hoping there's a way to fix it without replacement. all I have for parts is a 72 lady k and I'm expecting the timers to be very different. I've made a video of the problem that is loading on youtube. As soon as I have the link ill post it

A neighbor of mine who I did laundry for years ago, had this same washer and on the E & F cycles it alternated between wash and soak. I remember it would wash 2 min then soak for 2 min then wash 2 min and so on until the water drained. I can remember all the lights would come on during the soak portion if the cycle and if I advance the timer it would not always wash.

Have you let the timer move on its own or as soon as it stops do you turn it?

Just my thoughts as I watched the video.

if i let it advance on its own it does it aswell. it will sit and click and groan till the timer advances again or motor cuts out on overheat.
