Could be, or a a way of getting a page to the top. I know Amazon will frequently list new goods at 1/10th or less the MSRP, and once the listing gains popularity with reviews the price rapidly increases.

I've gotten many things like light bulbs and receptacles practically for free. Key is routinely searching for the item you are looking for until a new listing comes up.

I would almost say somebody skipped an entry field somewhere.

The 255$ is basically exactly what the rebate to the now 843$ price is.

Having the MSRP, rebate and final price fields next to each other in a software environment makes perfect sense.
MSRP is prefilled, you enter one of the values and the other gets autofilled.
Just hit tab once to often in a long list of appliances you are rebating and you get that.

What's that called again: Never assume malice when incompetence is a possibility.

That's how I got my Miele DW for half price.

They wanted to list entry line Miele built in appliances at my old workplace for half MSRP and instead they just cut all MSRPs under 1200€ in half - including the BOL models in the upper product category for DW (G6xxx/G7xxx models, but only the cheap ones).
