How do guys.

Though I have congratulated you on other mediums James, I havent done so here. Really pleased that you have a superb new machine and, as Mike has said, just shows that your perseverence pays off.

Right oh - the final series twin tub models. After years of research, even I am still a bit confused by what machine ran with what, but here goes an attempt at what machines were in production together.

First off - all the models:

9400, 9402, 9403, 9404, 9409, 9410 & finally 9414.

The March 1986 series comprised of 4 models:

9400 (A/T/W) Supermatic Plus .... with no worktop.
9402 (A/W) Supermatic Plus .... with worktop - mail order exclusive.
9403 (W) Supermatic .... with worktop - Currys exclusive
&
9410 (A/T/W) Supermatic De Luxe

9400 below...

I dont know for sure when the final series was introduced, but would assume it to have been April 1988, when models 9514, 9524, 9534 etc were introduced.

Models 9400 and 9402 were rolled into one and replaced by the 9404 Supermatic Plus, available in Almond or White...

Model 9410 was replaced by the still very common 9414 Supermatic Plus, again available in Almond and White.
Teak was discontinued...

The problem model!

Just leaves model 9409 Supermatic Plus.

Common sense would assume that this was a final series replacement for the Currys exclusive model 9403, but no where have I ever seen it described as such.
Nor did I see it in the pages of KAYS Catalogues either, so that might rule out a mail order exclusive.

Its definitely a final series machine, by virtue of its capital lettered name on the fascia, but quite where it fits - I dont know.

Anyone knows - be interested to hear.

Hope the above helps put the final ranges into context.

Cheers
Paul
