A question about front-loaders

Hi, all. I was wondering how long do the belts on front-loaders last? I have a WP duet. No problems at all. It is belt-driven. Im sure you guys will know. Thanks so much.....Bill in az.....

the machines are too new to tell, maybe within 7 years or when bearing failure occurs!?!

It could depend upon the brand/model.

Some Maytag Neptune users have complained about belt wear after only a couple of years. But in other cases, the belts seem to last a very long time. I don't see why a FL belt would last any less time than the belt in a top loader model.

And belts, in general, are relatively cheap ($25 or less) and easy to replace. I would not rate this a major FL concern.

Mine used to get stretched, perhaps from overloading or over-use in my impetuous youth.

Steve, I know when you were shopping for replacement belts, the chastity brand was too expensive and you settled for cheaper brands.

I actually used a vehicle fan-belt.
