A question about hand held Hoovers

Dear all.

I know that we are directing vacuum cleaner related posts to vacuumland but the site wont let me create a new login, so I am posting here instead. Sorry for those who might get upset.

I just want to know what experience our UK friends have with the Hoover Jovis.

I am looking for a good vac for the car and they are very nice looking. Hoover Australia seems to have made a concerted effort to put an attractive product line up together.

I can't comment on the 'Jovis'...

But in my experience, honestly, you get better performance out of a decent full-size, mains powered machine.

The problem is that the handheld battery models cannot generate the suction power required to get the deep down dirt. They only remove the surface litter. Fine, if you only want to suck up the crumbs from biscuits or crisps. But absolutely no good for pet-hair or embedded grit.
