A real "plain Jane" Maytag HOH dryer

If you're a no frills BOL kind of person, this one is for you.  Exterior shots show a nice looking machine, and for $20 it's yours.  Located in Wausau, WI.

Yikes.

I'm with Kenny - this looks like it would have been some sort of institutional model. I can't imagine this as a BOL; it would have cost Maytag more for the special plain-finish console and knobs than it would have to give BOL customers the same pieces as other models had.

Non coin-op commercial dryer. The hardware store I worked at during the summer of '77 was a Maytag dealer. This was an inexpensive model, but can't remember if the price was less than the model that used the standard control panel with the silver painted (non chrome) trim. Think they sold a couple of them while I was there; would have appealed to the no-nonsense farm people that many of our customers were.

Definitely BOL.  I'm having a brain day, but I keep thinking DE90 but I could be wrong.

It is a DE90.  This was considered to be the BOL, so much so that I have no brochures on it.  I do have parts lists, however.  The interesting thing is that this dryer did everything that a DE306 did.  It even used the same timer.  Unlike earlier low-end halo of heat dryers that sported a galvanized zinc drum, this dryer used the same porcelain drum that even the 806 & 906 used!  This dryer was manufactured from 1969 until 1976 when it was replaced with its "big load" replacement, the DE91.  Also this model was only offered in electric.  If you wanted a gas low-end dryer you had to move up to the DG306.

I think someone needs to drive up/over to Wausau and save this one for posterity.  For 20 bucks it's worth it.
