hello everyone,

i have a small question about my 2004 whirlpool duet washer as everyone know its already an 8 year old model and now when it wash i have started hearing a metal sound clicking as it wash and spin could this be after 8 years of use a start of failing bearings. As you know i am no expert and its still works perfectly well because the metal sound i am hearing is kind of like the sound of a loose screw inside. so my question is how do i know the sign when bearings starts to fail?

Thank you

It'll make a very noticeable roaring sound.

I've posted a link to a video of someone who certainly has experienced bearing failure. (No offense to whirlpool owners.)

IMO, A metal clicking noise is an indication of a different problem, such as foreign matter, like a coin, etc. Could you post a video?

Check under the rubber seal. Once I washed one of those small screwdrivers by mistake. I always check the pockets but I missed it - and I heard the strangest clicking noise and when I unloaded the washer, there was nothing.....then I checked the rubber seal and there was the screwdriver. Luckily it hadn't done any damage.
