Its that time of year again everyone and it has just flown since the last gathering 2016. A much smaller clan this year as our host is having building works done, so it was making sure everything secure and packed away ready for a big build which will see the appliance display space much increased for more fun !!

Dr Mathew again surprised us all with a thoroughly useful "Made By Himself" repair implement, after SESteves repair weekend and us not able to get the spin can out of the AEG Lavalux twintub because of a stuck locking nut...It appears Dr Mathew puzzelled over it whilst dunking biscuits and came up with this large nut spanner, made to exact length, welded and tested by himself. How genius is that !!

L to R, Richard (Ricky5050) Ian (TriumphDolomite) Mathew (Keymatic 3203) and Steve (SESteve)

Unloaded out of the boot is my "Free To Me" Hotpoint Liberator 1826 washing machine, these where made by Zanussi and filled a gap in the 1970`s model lineup after a major fire at the Hotpoint Peterborough factory destroyed all the spares and dies for the existing range of washing machines..

The once over reveals it needs new bearings which are available and a hole in the vitreous enamel outer tub which can be sealed with plastic metal when the tub is out for bearings renewal. Add To The List !!

No, Not a birthday cake, nowthen like the spacemates the door boots have long perished and supplies are nil. So in another universe Mathew sat thinking, in his line of theatre props work they use rubber latex moulds, so ever the champion he has been trying out different molds and additives to see if a sample could be constructed of the original door boot for the English Electric.

Heres the machine, getting it ready to try.
