There's a golfing community near me that started out in the early 70s, I think 1971 to be exact. I was reading on their website that it began as a "Westinghouse community."

I've been to a few estate sales there and one was at probably one of the first homes there, and it had a harvest gold Westinghouse range. I guess the earliest homes built there had Westinghouse appliances most likely. I found it very interesting.

Perhaps it was a community where Westinghouse retirees settled.

It was not all uncommon for an entire neighbourhood to be equipped with a full set of same-brand appliances in the 60s and 70s.  I remember the 'Beacon Hill' neighbourhood of Beaconsfield, Québec, where the original homes were built mostly in 1965 and 1966, and all had Frigidaire appliances!  What I wouldn't give to go back in time and snag a set of them....

This is similar to neighborhoods we had in the Seattle area in the early 60's that were advertised as "ALL ELECTRIC!" With a brass plague at the entrance to the 'hood.' I didn't see anything gas until I was almost 16!
