First, I did pull unit away from wall and look for obvious leaks, found none.
The washer fills the tub no leaks then once agitation starts it begins leaking and stops progress. The dashboard light stays on telling me it is still "on" but it will not progress unless selector is pushed in and advanced then pulled back out. Any ideas on what would cause both a leak and a work stoppage?
Thanks

FYI

Note: this is only happening on permanent press mode, running a timed cycle results in no leaks and no stoppage.

I don't want to ask a stupid question, but how long have you been using this washer? Are you saying it only stops when it comes to the cool down at the end of the wash cycle in the Permanent Press cycle? If it can't fill for the cooldown, the timer won't advance. Maybe part of the problem is related to the cold water fill valve or its solenoid. I don't know about the leak, but something is wrong that is not allowing it to fill with cold water.

This is a very strange set of circumstances.

At what point in the Permanent Press cycle does it stop? Is it during the wash phase, the cool-down phase or the rinse phase?

If I read correctly it only leaks on the Permanent Press cycle?
I cannot for the life of me think of a reason why it would leak on one cycle and not another.

It completes its initial fill and wash (agitator moves) then stops. Don't get the leaking myself, I'm stumped as to it working fine one way and leaking the other

You said that the stopping only happens with the Permanent Press cycle, correct? At then end of the wash agitate time, does the machine even try to drain or does it just stop? If it just stops, there is probably something wrong with the timer.

If you can dry clothes in a dryer, you do not need to use the PP cycle and it gives poorer water extraction than the normal cycle. The short term solution is don't use the PP cycle. If you can't dry clothes in a dryer, use the slow spin speed on the Regular Fabrics cycle and you will get results comparable to the PP cycle.
