Well my Oko-Lavamat water solenoid continues to play up, and one is getting fed up, so guess will have to bite the bullet and purchase a replacement.

Previously the thing wasn't filling the fabric conditioner at final rinse. Could live with that as rarely use FS and could always add it manually as machine does fill via the pre-wash side.

Then it became every other cycle that wasn't "Cottons/Linens" was a gamble; sometimes would fill normally, others would trickle for a few minutes then you'd hear a squeak as valve opened and full flow began. However if the machine had to top up, maybe same valve would work, maybe not.

Oddly if one runs hot water (this machine is cold fill only) all valves seem to work (there are three), except FS. However having to start the machine with hot water, drain, then set to correct cycle is not only a plentiful waste of time, but of water as well. That and the "warm" tub throws machine's programming off because things heat faster than set parameters. So in the end washer till deduct ten minutes from cycle.

Can either order a new triple water solenoid from AEG in Canada for about $150, plus shipping. Or, from UK or France for about $90 plus shipping. Finally there are various after market triple solenoids that are advertised as a "match OEM quality" , but reviews from those who purchased say otherwise.

Could you give a model number or PNC code? Or even better a picture of the label that should be somewhere around the door opening?

Depending on parts and shipping cost I'd be willing to see if I could get a OEM part shipped to me and then send it to you, so maybe that would end up cheaper for you.
I even have a valve from our old AEG laying around here, but I doubt that would fit.

Model and part numbers one knows off top of head; Lavamat-88840W, solenoid part number is Electrolux 4071360194.

Took a look under top last night, and our machine is fitted with the older solenoid part number, 1100991080, which was replaced by the above.

Also noticed that unlike the Oko-Lavamat featured in this video, the triple solenoid for our machine is fitted directly into the water distributor without hoses making the connection.



Am rather ticked off that a barely used (almost brand new when arrived, and rarely used since), washer needs a new magnetventil. It took nearly 12 years or more *after* we got the Miele W1070 before it needed a new cold water inlet valve.

AEG service in Canada says the issue must be the solenoid and not any issues with the water distributor. Which one hopes is true, and while doable replacing that part is a bit more complex.

The valve is 93€ in Europe, which is just horrendus. The one from our AEG isn't matching either. So no luck there, sorry.

Yes, the price is horrible in either Europe or North America for this valve, hence one considering aftermarket versions.

Just missed someone in France on fleaPay selling off OEM Electrolux versions (closing up his shop), and am only left with paying nearly $90 from UK (ebay) or 70euros directly from Electrolux, but not sure if they will ship to USA.

Can find "like OEM spares" for around $40USD plus shipping, but again not sure about the quality. There are of course persons selling "used" parts but don't want to go down that route. I mean have seen water conditions in parts of Europe and can only imagine what is lurking inside a used solenoid. That and there isn't any sort of warranty.

Hence the need to order from Europe or AEG Canada instead of trying to fit an Electrolux solenoid from this side of the pond.

Indeed Electrolux North America doesn't even sell parts for AEG appliances. Only sources are the places in Canada that sell Lavamat/Lavatherm washers and dryers.

After being turned down by several German dealers

Who won't ship to USA, went over to Homespares and found needed part. With discount (no VAT) then shipping part is far less dear then even on fleaPay; so that's me for you.

Homespares seems pretty highly thought of for unbranded parts so guess will give them a go. Just cannot see spending >$160 USD for the part from AEG Canada. Especially after spending $$$ for new feet and other parts just after machine was delivered. At this rate have paid more for parts than did for both machines *and* shipping put together.
