Thanks to so many of you wonderful folks for checking on Gary and I during Katrina and in preparation of Rita. I am truly blessed to have made so many friends here on the forum. Since we have been displaced, I don't have a computer at "home", so I stop at a friend's house twice a week to check email ... I sure do miss my daily dose of this site. But, we are alive and thankful for what we have (each other, our cats, our families and so many friends). I try to look at it on the bright side ... this time, I am going to build my "dream kitchen" when we renovate the soggy house. On another note, I am presently living in Appliance Hell with an older Whirlpool dishwasher and a Maytag Atlantis washer ... God, I miss my Bosch and my LG's!!! New Orleans will rebuild .. it will take time, but it will be better than ever ... I have faith. Thanks again for being such wonderful folks! Hugs, Todd & Gary

There will be a day.....

Todd and Gary:

You have my prayers for a quick rebuild. I know it's tough, but one day you will look back on it and go, "whew, glad that's over".

I hope that Rita does no further damage to our friends in Louisiana. We were blessed to escape any damage, as the storm moved east of us.

Take care and take it one day at a time.

Ray of hope

Well, I must confess that there were a few rays of hope that made this ordeal more bearable ... all of my "classic appliances" were in a raised workshop, so they survived!!! As an added bonus, the LG set in the house (which had nearly 2 feet of water) has been cleaned, sanitized, polished and they work like a charm! How's that for good luck? The only way to get through the rough times is to find something positive to hold onto ... I have that in my appliances and my partner!

Yes, much to my surprise, the LG set is working. Sadly, my Bosch dishwasher did not make it ... the memorial service will be next week. But, I am looking on the positive side ... already picking out what I want for the "new" house and ready to start the ball rolling ... hardest part is waiting for the adjusters to do their thing so that I can start with my rebuild!
