"All Metal" Hoover on Craigslist

Looks like some of it is plastic to me, but what do I know?

Anyone want this? I can pick it up if so (and it's not already sold.) They're asking 30 bucks.

This is a Hoover Convertible Special model 33

It was made between 1962 and 1965. It has the origianl outer bag. If it has the original powerswitch it will be red. It has no headlight, the furniture guard only wraps half way around the base, and the bag has snaps instead of a zipper This was made in conjunction with the model 69 Convertible which had the headlight, a full bumper, and a zipper bag. Its colors are lavender and white. Both Jeff Parker and I have our mom's 33s. My mom got hers in October of 1963 when her and dad moved into their new house in Springfield 4 months after being married and Jeff's mom got hers in 1964. Right Jeff? PATRICK COFFEY

30 bucks isn't bad

and that colour! Someone here of "the brotherhood" needs to get it.

The base is all metal, incidentally. The hood and furniture guard are supposed to be non-metallic.

Thats a pretty nice looking model 33!
As Pat said I grew up with one, ours was purchased in December of 1963 and went into service in January of 1964 when my parents moved into their first house. Mom used that Convertible until the end of 1998, almost 35 years with only two overhauls.
The color is dusky Lavender and pearl white with silver accent. Production ran from March of 1962 to march of 1964, with a final number of 495,000+ units.
