All Purpose Flour

So, myself and a few co-workers all use Robin Hood All-Purpose flour.
Lately we have been noticing we can’t find it at any of the local grocery stores.
Does anyone know if Robin Hood has been discontinued?

In the past on occasion I never used it because its a hard winter wheat flour and Im used to the softest wheat flour I can find.

Believe it's a Smuckers brand now...probably Pillsbury's Best would be the best alternative. It is still in Canada, though.

Robin Hood Flour

Cannot recall exact details, but yes it can be difficult to find in USA as it's now imported from Canada.

There is always Amazon and IIRC Walmart and other online sources

I use Robin Hood's Best for Bread flour.. makes a good loaf.

A reasonable substitute

For Robin Hood flour is King Arthur All Purpose.......similar protein levels.

I’ll have to give King Arthur flour a try.

In the past I have used Pilsburys Best and Gold Medal and didn’t like either of them.

I use King Arthur flour for everything! I get more consistent results in my baking and I think the flavor is better. They have a ton of different varieties for whatever you’re using it for too.

I haven’t seen in quite a while used to buy it in bulk 25 lbs but had to switch to gold metal flour. I found that I like it almost as much.

I’ve been baking all of our bread since the first of the year, and I use both Target Market Pantry Unbleached White and MP Whole Wheat flours. If I buy a name brand it will usually be Gold Medal Unbleached White. I’ve been very satisfied with MP flour for everything that I bake.
All of Target Market Pantry products are at least as good as the name brand, or better.

I've been baking my own bread for years and just buy the 25lb bag of Bread flour at Sams, never had an issue with stuff not turning out as I want/expect.  For regular baking I use Aldi flour, again consistent results.  I've never been tied to one brand of flour, over the years I've used many and never had a noticeable difference in the finished product.
