That's pretty nice.
These are somewhat hard to find, and they don't turn up that often with the stainless top; they usually have the porcelain one.
In the right house, one of these with a KDS-15 in it (which would make it a KDS-35) would be great to have. The brochure that has the KDS-35 in it says that the stainless top was available, though the porcelain top was shown in the catalog shot.

when the lower panels are missing from dish washers, like this, does that mean they are typically damaged when the unit was removed? The missing lower panel mystery lingers.

I think it's a 16 series Superba. Not sure of the model number since it's a sink unit.

No, If usually just means they removed it to disconnect the machine and did not put it back before taking the picture.
