when i seen the name, i remembered reading the amana post with your name it, i believe? and i thought, "well, maybe this is something that sandy would like".
by the way, the store STILL had the other maytag LDG 309 for sale. they have it priced at $125. i was talking with the guy who prices things (he told me he's only been there like 10 months or so?) and he told me that if i went back next week and if the dryer was still there, he could work with me on the price.
(here's when my finaggling kicked in) and i told him "i've seen this dryer here for quite a few months now. and the price hasn't gone down any, since i first seen it" i said, "i remember seeing it over there first, and then the next time i came, it was over there, and the time after that, i was standing here alone. it's been here a very long time and still hasn't sold. you know, i seen one on craigslist and the guy was trying to sell it for $50. i asked the guy if he would go down on it, cuz to tell you the truth, i really don't NEED it. but if the price was attractive enough, i might just TAKE it, just cuz it's a good price. well, the guy listed that one dryer a few weeks later at $45, so i called him and i told him, would you take $30? and he said no, he wouldn't go lower than $45. and like i told you, it's not like i NEED this dryer. my mom has a dryer that we use. i just like the look of this dryer and the style matches my washer, even if my washer is yellow and this dryer is a cream (almond) color, i like the look of it. but i really don't NEED this dryer. so, if you can give me a good price, i might just take it." this is what i told the guy. and he said he understood what i was saying.
then he tells me that the dryer is "GAS" and the only way they could test it was to just plug it in. and that it did turn on. but other than that, they couldn't see if the gas parts inside worked or not. so basically, they couldn't guarantee that there wasn't any problems with the flame or igniter etc. inside. that they're store was no returns, no refunds.
at $125, YEAH RIGHT!!! not even for $45!
well, before leaving the store, he came over & talked to me again and said, "so if you come back next week, we could work with $45?". and i just looked at him & i said, "we'll see?"
then he starts asking me if i was married or if i had a boyfriend? i just told him, "oh no, i've had nothing but bad luck when it comes to boyfriends. they all end up being jealous, possessive, and controling. so, i just stopped having boyfriends."
but i have a question, would a maytag LDG 309 have a lighted drum? there was a white button on the upper left hand side of the opening, near the information plate. but i felt directly behind where this white round push in button was and i couldn't feel a lens for a drum light, on the inside?? so, i'm thinking that white button is just to start the dryer up??
