My dad bought my mother an Amana deep freezer in 73/74, and it was still running in the basement of the bar my mom worked at in 1999. To bad they can't make them last that long today.
Chest freezers are the most relilble major appliance made now and always have been. I bet that I have worked on less than twenty in more than 35 years of doing full time appliance repair. And I see no indication that a brand new one won't last up to 50 years without even a single service call. What evidence does anyone here have to the contrary?.
