Ad: "1950s Chambers "Built-In" Electric Wall Oven, Stove, and Hood

This oven and four burner cooktop has been used by a family of four for over 50 years and still works. The unit was installed when the house was built in 1955, and were removed in November, 2013, as part of a kitchen renovation. The oven, stove, and hood are in overall excellent vintage condition. Very well taken care of. Made of porcelain and stainless steel. The griddle/broiler in the middle of the cooktop has not been connected to gas but appears to be functional. One of the original knobs have been replaced over the years. The finish is a beautiful cherry red and in amazing condition for being 50+ years old.

The oven and stove are being stored at our parents home in West Lafayette, IN (only 2.5 hours away from Chicago) and the buyer would need to arrange pick up with me and be able to pick up in Indiana. We're asking $400 cash or best offer. Please email if interested. Thanks! "

People will be people with posting choices....

It's not my website. I understand why people are posting CL and eBay items in other areas than where it should be posted, which is Shopper's Square. Someone tapped me on the shoulder once and said, "don't post these things anywhere else than Shoppers Square because that's why Robert created it." Where is that person to remind these others of the same tendencies? I do a search for subject and string html within Shoppers Square... before posting anything. That's about as far as I can go, since it's where all for sale items from CL, eBay, etc. similar sources belongs.

Someone would have saved me the trouble if they had posted here, and I would have received the warning that's built in.

Phil:

Putting the other thread in Super is really the origin of the double post, not your posting it here.

Inasmuch as the item is a range, one could say equally that it belongs in Super or belongs here, except that it's an item for sale.

That having been said, I am seeing some casual attitudes towards forum categories that I could wish weren't happening. In a couple of cases, I don't see how things ended up in the forum they did without posters deliberately mis-answering the categorization questions that Robert has provided.

Our forum categories make it far easier to navigate and search AW. It also makes it easier to avoid content that's not of interest; I myself almost never visit Deluxe, because if new washers become the only choice, I may well go back to beating clothes on rocks by the river.

Sandy, I have no additional comment, since you said it all and more (what stood out in the above, all and else, was: " if new washers become the only choice, I may well go back to beating clothes on rocks by the river. " lol
