On the last day, why not use the rest of the stuff and be done with it? This sourdough process sounds like just the thing for someone with lots of time and nothing better to do and a PITA for the rest of us. Is this starter too wet to form a ball so that it could be thrown? At least this is not as bad as that Friendship Fruit fad that went around giving little old church ladies the thrill of alcohol and, for those who tried to store it in a jar with a tight lid, exploding glass and sticky fruit and syrup all over.

It's delish!!!!

The girl that runs personell in my agency makes it every year. It's one of the few times I ask someone to make something for me. I could eat the stuff until I puke!!!! But she has the same problem with the giving the starter away. I think it would probably be easier to throw the stuff away after the holidays and start all over again next year. I remember when I was growing up...when my Mom was a "stay at home" mom she kept the starter in the bottom of the fridge. Sometimes she would get busy and forget to do the feed and use/discard thing. The lid would blow off the container and the stuff would take over the bottom shelf.

I think grams got one of the starters.. She made what she wanted of it and gave the rest to the neighborhood ladies if i recall.. She thought it was a big PITA... I would forget about it and it would blow up..

I have to much else to remember
