Quiet Please, There´s a Lady on Stage
"It was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
C'est la vie, say the old folk, it goes to show you never can tell

They furnished off an apartment with two rooms by themselves
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale
But when Pierre found work the little money coming worked out well"
C'est la vie, say the old folk, it goes to show you never can tell"

Literally an "ice box." My parents had a place when they first moved to California during WWII that had an ice box built into the kitchen cabinets. At one time Coolerator produced electric ranges also and was owned by or affiliated with ITT, International Telephone and Telegraph.

Believe their plant was in Duluth, Minnesota. They were one of the producers of Victory Boxes (i.e. ice boxes) during WW2. Interesting---wooden (!) dowel shelves, glass crispers....saw one at an antique store recently in Clayton, GA.

We had a Coolerator dehumidifier growing up (McGraw Edison, at the time).

I know that during the 1950's Coolerator was owned by IT

I have magazine ads from circa 1953 that show Coolerator as being a subsidary of ITT who was a big maker of telephones and like equipment for independant telephone compaines in the US. PAT COFFEY
